QUALITY ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PERIOD EUROPEAN SILVER EGG SHAPED VINAIGRETTE c1800
An antique European solid silver egg-shaped vinaigrette, with engraved decoration and a screw lid opening to reveal a gilded pull grille, holding scented wool (still perfumed!)
Good quality, totally original & very collectible!
CONDITION
: All original and generally good, with shallow denting commensurate with age and use. Most of the engraved decoration has now worn - see pictures.
DATE/MARKS
: Around 1780/1800. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS
: 44 x 28 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT
: Approx. 38.4 grams.
