The Life Pedal, a collaboration between the band Sunn O)))) and EQD, is back after being released in August 2019 and quickly selling out.
The Life Pedal V2 is a collaboration between SUNN O))) and EQD. The circuitry itself is unchanged, but the pedal has been upgraded with a new chassis, expression pedal out, and flexi switch.
The Life Pedal V2 is a distortion pedal with analog upper octave and booster. The "Amplitude" control controls the amount of distortion in a faithful reproduction of the vintage "White Face". The Life Pedal differs from the original by the addition of a clipping diode selection switch. The original circuit used a symmetrical pair of silicon diodes for a tight, compressed crunch sound.
The Life Pedal also features "No Diodes" (no diodes) and "LEDs" (a pair of silicon and LED asymmetrical clipping). "No Diodes is the open and loudest mode, as the signal flows directly to the op-amps. "LED is a smooth, tube amp-like sound with a little compression.
The "Octave" is an analog octave developed using Russian germanium. The Octave is an analog octave developed using Russian germanium. It is located at the front of the distortion and can be gradually blended into the distortion. The expression pedal, a feature of the V2, allows you to control the blend with your feet.
"Magnitude is a MOSFET booster designed to drive the pre-tubes of an amplifier to full capacity. It's a clean booster, so it won't add distortion or change the tone, but it has enough power to drive the amp. The signal from the guitar flows through the "octave", "distortion", and "booster", and the booster can be used by itself. The Life Pedal V2 is a flexible pedal.
The Life Pedal V2 is equipped with a flexi switch. The flexi switch can be used as a momentary function that turns on only when the pedal is depressed, in addition to the normal on/off function.
