In the late 1990’s Hookamax Dive Systems was founded by Dennis Parker, an avid boater and research and development machinist, along with co-founder Donald Sargent, an engineer, master diver and avid boater himself.

At Hookamax Dive Systems we take your safety seriously.  Each hookah diving system is made using breathing grade components, assembled by professional technicians.
Our specially made dive hose is FDA certified and intended for the purpose of breathing.  Our systems have been tested and are compliant to class D breathing standards.
Our hose ends are professionally crimped.
The hose’s yellow shielding makes it visible in the water and prevents mold from growing inside the hose, as you could find in a more transparent hose.
As with all breathing grade hoses, (non-toxic hoses) the hose’s breathing grade status is stamped by the factory directly on the hose.
Our medical grade compressors utilize Teflon rings and oil less pumps and have been tested safe for breathing.
Our systems meet and exceed international standards such as; AS/NZS 1715, as well as CE standards.
Each system utilizes a double filtration system with an intake filter, as well as a cleanable basket style in-line filter.
All of our systems utilize industrial heavy duty quick disconnects with check valves as required by international standard AS/NZS 1715.

Buyers beware of pirated copies and non-breathing systems ……
As with any great product, inevitably someone will try to copy it.
On this site one or two sellers pop up every year or so trying to sell over the counter de-labeled BLUE non-breathing grade PUMA PD1006 12 volt compressors as a diving compressors, out of their house or garage.
They falsely claim to be real companies.
PUMA themselves adamantly advises against breathing on these over the counter hardware store compressors, as they are not manufactured or intended for human consumption.
Our yellow medical grade CE certified E2005C-12V with a three gallon tank is unavailable for retail purpose to the general public, but because the BLUE PUMA 1.5 gallon unit resembles it in shape, garage builders try to pass it off as a diving hookah.
Some of these home builders actually sell toxic and potentially carcinogenic PVC hose as dive hose with no regard for your safety.
The EPA has PVC listed at a highly toxic substance that can literally cause cancer when inhaled.

Currently all breathing grade hose on the market is stamped breathing grade and is either YELLOW or BlACK.
It’s your life so ask any seller for a breathing grade certification on the air hose they are selling.
A common warning sign of a toxic hose is a non-clear liner (black), no stamping, blue or red shielding and transparent shielding as it will allow mold to grow inside the line.
Regarding the company or seller; do they have an actual manufacturing facility or is their business address a house?
Do you want someone building life and death equipment in their home as a part time business, with no professional training or experience?
Do they have a website?
How long have they been in business?
Do they reference their new product as an upgrade to an old system that Google has no record of?
How many feedbacks does the seller actually have selling their unit?

The E2005C-12V compressor weighs in at 40lbs. and provides enough air for two divers to 30 feet (if upgraded to a two diver unit) and one diver to 60 plus feet.  The units max amperage draw is 45 and it produces over 2.5 c.f.m. at operating pressure.  Because of the unit's regulated design, it is an extremely efficient hookah diving system.  Instead of bleeding off unused air like some units, the Hookamax stock piles it in the unit's tank which allows it to cycle on and off, providing maximum battery efficiency.  The system is extremely quiet for a battery operated unit and is comparable to a garbage disposal when running, which is only part of the time due to it's efficient design.  With a high quality group 27 or, 31 deep cycle battery this unit will provide power to two divers for well over an hour on average and double that with a single diver.  Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to ask if you have a question.  This is my job not hobby and I'm in the office from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern standard time.
