Description
You are acquiring the pictured HK-Listed Socalled dollar medallisted by Messers. Hibler and Kappen in their book titled "So-Called Dollars".
This high grade mint state medal was issued as part of the last great national celebrations of a United States of America state Centennial. The great trek to the Oregon Territory beginning in 1843 received so much uptake that ORegon had the chops and population to enter the Union only 16 years later.
Some of the magic was retained up to 1959 because the celebrations for this noteworthy event lasted for nearly the entire year of 1959, beginning with an actual wagon train that set out from Independence, Missouri that also was a rolling post office that sold franked USPS envelopes bearing the postage stamp issued to honor Oregon. It made its way over the course of two months to Independence Oregon where this medal issues from.
This medal is going to be assigned a high mint state grade if submitted to a professional grading service.
