    Description
    This is an Exhibition Palace,
    "So-Called Dollar"
    or
    “Souvenir Medal”
    from the
    “Louisiana Purchase Exposition”
    or
    “St. Louis World’s Fair”
. This Exposition was held in St. Louis, Missouri from April 30, to December 1, 1904. It had the distinction of hosting the
    “1904 Summer Olympic Games”
. These were the very first Olympic Games ever held in the United States.
St. Louis was the Territorial Capital in 1804 and was thus chosen to host the Centennial Celebration of the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon's France. The purchase of this vast territory was called
"Second in importance to America's development only to the American Revolution"
    .

    The So-Called Dollar or Medal:
An attractive specimen. It looks like it was carried as a pocket piece as it shows the wear and marks that it would earn doing so. A nice memento of the St. Louis Fair and over a hundred-year-old piece of history. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
